UWS TEAM
DEDICATION. EXPERTISE. PASSION

Underwater Soldiers was established in 2019 as a non-profit organization to help Veterans. We use SCUBA as a form of therapy for Veterans with PTSD and other medical conditions. Through our organization, the mind and body benefits of SCUBA are underscored by the creation of a community of Veterans with a passion for diving.
SHAWN WEISZ
PRESIDENT/CO-FOUNDER
Shawn has been an avid diver for nearly a decade. He has also been an advocate and staunch supporter of our Veterans. Realizing that these two passions of his could benefit from each other, he set out to find like-minded individuals and to build an organization to help the diving and Veteran communities come together for support and camaraderie.

CHARLES "CHUCK" WILLIAMS
SECRETARY/CO-FOUNDER
Chuck is a disabled combat veteran who served nine years in the US Marine Corps. Growing up listening to his uncle tell stories about diving, it had always been something that he wanted to do. Connecting with Shawn helped him to realize this dream, while connecting with other Veterans and Veteran supporters.
VINCENT ELDRED
VICE PRESIDENT

Vince served 9 1/2 years in the US Army and is a combat veteran. Joining the Underwater Soldiers group helped him to connect with and help other veterans while also giving back to his community. "I feel like the group has helped me heal and grow as an individual and I hope to help other veterans find the same kind of peace underwater that I have found."

JESSICA BISCAN
BOARD MEMBER

Jessica discovered Scuba Diving in 2020, began joining the Underwater Soldiers on their cleanup dives in 2022, and joined the board soon after. As a person living with disabilities, including an above-the-knee amputation, she fully understands the UWS mission. Jessica hopes that others can experience the benefits of Scuba as much as she has.
